H.I., we are Hermanos Inglesos

With a moniker like Hermanos Inglesos one could secure himself a lucrative future as part of a Columbian smuggling cartel or some cheesy Anglo-Mexican mariachi act.  Nevertheless, the real life brothers Cedric and Didier Engels (Engels being the Dutch word for English, hence Hermanos InglesEs = English brothers, comprende?) are none of the above.  They feel best at home in their studio or behind a DJ-mixer, preferably in front of a frantic crowd, hungry for good times and exciting tunes.

The Belgian siblings are not only united in blood but also in a taste for music like irony never happened. The boys wear their influences on their sleeves and are not ashamed to admit it.  Belgium has a great tradition in electronic music, clubbing and bringing forth influential DJs. From the R&S label and the groundbreaking club Boccaccio, to Eskimo Recordings and Culture Club. Hermanos Inglesos sucked it all in and made it their own. Result: eclectic sets including new tunes, classic cuts and quality feel-good music. In 2008 these Diesel U Music-winners/ex Culture Club-residents signed a record deal and released a few EP’s and remixes, with success (picked up by BBC Radio 1 etc.).  Last year they released their full album on PIAS, ’The Wander Of You’, with ‘Mastermind’ (supported by Tiga, Erol Alkan, Fake Blood, Boris Dlugosch,…), ‘Take Me Down’ and ‘Wanderland’ as singles. Don't forget to check out the videoclips, especially 'Wanderland' with more than 500.000 views and several international prices.

Now they just finished a brand new live show: HI, we are Hermanos Inglesos live. This unprecedented concept contains an audio-video performance of one hour, including their own edits, tracks and remixes (Yeasayer, Ladytron, Crystal Fighters, The Temper Trap,...).
